A Very Short Story
The unfolding tale of
a true community bank.
We began in 1955 with a simple mission:
to provide the residents and businesses of Central Massachusetts
with a supportive local bank. A bank that would listen to
their needs and help the areas development. And that
is exactly what weve been doing ever since.
Our ability to carry out this mission
increased significantly in 1993. Thats when Mr. David
G. Massada well-known supporter of the community and
successful Worcester businessmanpurchased a substantial
majority of the Banks stock. Since then, Commerce Bank
has grown steadily, in order to better serve a broader community.
Besides four offices in Worcester, were now also located
in Holden, Leominster, Marlborough, Milford, Shrewsbury, Webster,
West Boylston and Westborough.

Commerce Bank will never be one of the "Big Banks." We will never outgrow our dedication to the success of this area, and its people. After all, we are its people

The core of our relationship with the
general community is our deposit services: Checking accounts
and high-yield Savings, Money Market and Time Deposit accounts.
A key to our commercial relationships is a full range of Cash
Management services.
Naturally, the Bank provides a complete
menu of lending services. We offer substantial expertise in
Commercial and Commercial Real Estate lending, plus a comprehensive
array of Personal and Residential Mortgage lending programs.
(Interestingly enough, weve also carved out a specialized
niche in financing the purchase of small aircraft.)
By the beginning of 2006, The Banks
Total Assets had grown to approximately $1 billion. (One might
say weve reached impressive heights.) But the real story
is our roots. We remain firmly anchored in Central Massachusetts.
The community and the Bank have "grown up" together.
And together, well keep growing.
Commerce Bank will never be one of the
"Big Banks." We will never outgrow our dedication
to the success of this area, and its people. After all, we
are its people. No wonder youll often see the friendly
face of a Commerce employee whos rolled up his or her
sleeves to provide some "hands-on" help to a local
non-profit or social-services group. We work for positive
change. Plus, we dont change our name (and who knows
what else?) every 6 months to reflect the latest mega-merger.
We think youll appreciate our business.
And we certainly appreciate yours.
