David G. Massad

Brian W. Thompson
President and Executive Officer
Brian joined the Bank in 2004 as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Commerce he was employed by First Essex Bancorp from 1996 until its acquisition by Sovereign Bancorp in 2004. Mr. Thompson served as President and Chief Operating Officer of both the Corporation and the Bank. At the same time, he was also a member of the Board of Directors of both the Corporation and the Bank. Prior to joining the First Essex, Mr. Thompson was President and Chief Executive Officer of Finest Financial Corp. and its subsidiary, Pelham Bank and Trust Company, from October 1995 until its acquisition by First Essex in December 1996. Prior to joining Finest Financial Corp., Mr. Thompson was Executive Vice President of Peoples Bancorp and Peoples Bank of Worcester from 1991 to 1995 with responsibility for commercial banking activities. He was also employed by Shawmut National Corporation serving as President of a number of banking subsidiaries and in other various executive, management and lending activities for 23 years.

Michael J. Crawford
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Mike joined Commerce in 2002 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Commerce, Mr. Crawford was employed by Capital Crossing Bank as Senior Vice President and Director of Relationship Banking. Michael previously worked for USTrust from 1985 to 2000, serving in a variety of positions, including Senior Vice President and Senior Credit Officer.

William F. Burke
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Bill joined the Bank in 2004 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Commerce, he was employed by First Essex Bancorp from 1992 until its acquisition by Sovereign Bancorp in 2004. He served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of First Essex Bancorp. Mr. Burke was previously employed by Shawmut National Corporation in various management capacities from 1975 to 1992.

James R. Belliveau, CPA
Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
James joined Commerce in 1999 Assistant Vice President. Prior to joining Commerce,
Mr. Belliveau was employed as a Financial Controller in the Mortgage Industry,
as a CPA, and as the Vice President of Operations at Merchants National Bank.

JoAnn Morency
Senior Vice President of Retail Banking
JoAnn joined the Bank in 2006 as Senior Vice President of Retail Banking and Community Affairs. Prior to joining Commerce, she was employed by Eastern Bank in the capacity of Vice President and Regional Manager for Greater Boston and MetroWest. Ms. Morency was previously employed by Fidelity Investments as Strategic Business Development Manager for one of their Capital Market companies.
