Our Executive Team

David G. Massad
Chairman

David “Duddie” Massad, a native of Worcester, began his business career at age fourteen and has been a successful businessman, developer and entrepreneur for over sixty years. His holdings have included some of the most iconic dealerships in the region, including the Diamond Auto Group, Emerald Chevrolet Oldsmobile, Duddie Motors and the largest Hertz franchise in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In December 1993, Duddie purchased Commerce Bank, which has since increased its assets to $1.7 billion and now has more than 250 employees.  Duddie currently serves as Chairman of Commerce Bancshares Corporation and Commerce Bank & Trust Company. To further serve and support the community, Duddie considers it essential to give back to the city he and the bank call home. Donations to the renovation of Foley Stadium and to UMASS Memorial Hospital for an emergency and trauma treatment center are just two of many such examples of extraordinary support.
